This introductory course allow student to learn the fundamentals of drawing and painting across a variety of media and subject matter. Great for beginner students and those looking for an art making refresher course.

• Learn the basics of drawing and painting by creating artworks across subject matter of the figure, portraiture and perspective
• Post completion students are prepared for One River's Adult Art Shuffle, Focus on Drawing and Focus on Oil Painting classes
• In-depth demonstrations and hands on instruction helps students gain confidence to create inspiring works of art

Students will draw inspiration from the world's best Mangaka and Animation studios to create unique works of art. This class uses manga/anime as a way to explore fine art techniques to advance students' skills in drawing, painting & sculpture. Students can expect to explore figure proportions, gesture drawings, facial expressions, character design, and rendering techniques.

• Compelling projects explore the principles of art and design, through Japanese art & animation
• Teacher-led demonstrations provide students with technical instruction in the use of watercolor, pen & ink, illustration markers, and sculptural materials.
• Discover how to apply Manga & Anime concepts to the fine art realm.

Aspiring animators can join this class for a journey into animation techniques, character development and storytelling. Students will explore figure motion, lip syncing, frame-by-frame and tweening as they take their animation skills to the next level.  Students must demonstrate experience using Adobe Animate or have previously studied in One River School’s core digital program, Digital Art Shuffle.

Designed for digital art students who love Manga or Comics! Students in this class will be taught how to take their digital artistry & skills further by learning the foundations of panel based Storytelling and illustrative Rendering techniques, based within two major paradigms: Manga & Cartooning. Students of this course will complete projects which explore the differences and similarities between the two stylizations and develop skills which support both.

• Compelling projects explore: Manga/Comic Layouts, Cell/Soft Shading, Stylized Proportions, Perspective Grids, Visual Effects, and more.
• Teacher led demonstrations provide technical instruction and in depth guidance on rendering techniques such as: shading, highlighting & texture. Along with methods of stylizations for both western or eastern character designs.
• Projects will use the program Adobe Photoshop and class is open to any student regardless of ability. Welcome to all!

Our core teen art program allows students to become well-rounded artists by shuffling projects across a variety of media and subject matter. Kids Digital Art Shuffle™ opens up the world of digital art making by exposing young innovators to Adobe Photoshop, Adobe Animate and Sketchbook Pro to learn the fundamentals of the tools, layers, and software to make art on a virtual canvas. Using the latest software and XP Pen tablets, students learn how to create digital illustration and animations while understanding visual characteristics such as transparency, symmetry, frame rate, texture and illusion.

• Students learn the basics of the Adobe Suite to create digital art, media and design
• Digital art projects include cartooning, animation, character modeling, digital sketching, hybrid-animals, digital painting, and more
• Instructors are digital artists who are dedicated to creating an engaging, fun and inspiring classroom environment

Designed for students who want to focus on learning technical skills in the drawing medium. Students will master the elements and principles of art and design through fun and engaging drawing projects.
